I heard a very interesting piece of information in a session of dr. K with ThePrimeagen here

Apparently, there is like a certain limit of dopamine one (most likely) accumulates during the day. As an easy example, if i play a video game now and release some dopamine, i am less likely to actually work hard later on (or at least it feels less rewarding).

Therefore, if you have a dopamine sensitive brain (easy to get addicted), you´re more likely to fall into social media addiction, video game addiction, drugs or whatever. But if you can ever break out of that, the same addictiveness to which your brain is drawn to substances, if you can ever shwo your brain, that you can get this through battle toads, through programming or whatever, you will be hooked. Your brain will absolutely love it.
Serotonin deficient --> You feel empty, lack of fulfillment... This will lead to dopamine drive. Brain will start looking for dopamine. When you are burnt out, do not try to work less. Reprogram self to make work more fun. Or at least do something on the side that will cause serotonin increase. You need to mentally check out to escape burnout. Create distance. Make a fun day where you do only things you like in excess.
